Easy Homemade Banana Crumb Cake Recipe
How to Make
Ingredients Needed:
- Salted butter, softened
- Granulated sugar
- Eggs
- Vanilla extract
- Whole milk
- Sour cream
- Ripe bananas, mashed
- All purpose flour
- Baking powder
- Salt
- Cinnamon
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
- Prepare a 9×9 square pan – grease or line with parchment paper
- In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar using an electric or stand mixer
- Add eggs and mix until combined
- Mix in the remaining wet ingredients – vanilla, milk, sour cream and mashed bananas
- In a separate small bowl, whisk together dry ingredients
- Add dry ingredients to the bowl with the wet ingredients and mix until combined
- For the crumb topping, whisk together flour, sugar and cinnamon
- Add softened butter and use a fork to combine to make crumbs
- Pour batter into prepared pan and top with crumbs
- Cook for 34 to 36 minutes or until inserted toothpick comes out clean

- 1/4 cup butter (softened at room temperature)
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tbsp sour cream
- 2-3 ripe bananas (mashed)
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Crumb Topping
- 3/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 6 tablespoons of butter softened at room temperature
