Moist and Easy Banana Bread

This banana bread recipe is a must if you have a few extra ripe bananas on hand. It is moist inside with a crisp edge to it. You and your family will be sure to love it!

It is an easy, one bowl recipe. You can make ahead for any occasion and freeze too!

How to Make:

Ingredients Needed

  • Ripe bananas 
  • Granulated sugar 
  • Large egg
  • Vanilla extract
  • Sour cream
  • Vegetable oil
  • Baking powder 
  • Baking soda
  • Salt
  • Ground cinnamon
  • All purpose flour

Directions to Make

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Grease the loaf pan (I like to use crisco to coat the pan and then flour it)
  • Mash the bananas using a masher or fork 
  • Add the remaining ingredients – sugar, egg, vanilla, sour cream, vegetable oil, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and flour. Stir until combined, don’t over-mix batter
  • Pour batter into loaf pan and place in the oven
  • Cook for 55-60 minutes or until inserted toothpick comes out clean
  • Allow bread to cool for 10 minutes in the hot pan before transferring to cooling rack
  • ENJOY!

Does this freeze well?

Yes! Allow the bread to come to room temperature fully before placing in a freezer bag or freezer safe container. In order to thaw, allow to come to room temperature a few hours before consuming. It tastes like it was made fresh that day!

  • 2 tbsp sour cream
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
