Easy Homemade Banana Crumb Cake Recipe

How to Make

Ingredients Needed:

  • Salted butter, softened
  • Granulated sugar
  • Eggs
  • Vanilla extract
  • Whole milk
  • Sour cream
  • Ripe bananas, mashed
  • All purpose flour
  • Baking powder
  • Salt
  • Cinnamon

Directions:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
  • Prepare a 9×9 square pan – grease or line with parchment paper
  • In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar using an electric or stand mixer
  • Add eggs and mix until combined
  • Mix in the remaining wet ingredients – vanilla, milk, sour cream and mashed bananas
  • In a separate small bowl, whisk together dry ingredients
  • Add dry ingredients to the bowl with the wet ingredients and mix until combined
  • For the crumb topping, whisk together flour, sugar and cinnamon
  • Add softened butter and use a fork to combine to make crumbs
  • Pour batter into prepared pan and top with crumbs
  • Cook for 34 to 36 minutes or until inserted toothpick comes out clean

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder

Crumb Topping

  • 3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 6 tablespoons of butter softened at room temperature
